The inaugural race weekend took place on September 24th 2017 and the day consisted of three races. The aquathlon for youngsters, the TT challenge with Ivan Stević and the 11TRI BELGRADE taking the center stage.
It was a triathlon weekend like Belgrade has not seen till that date. The weekend was filled with thrills, joy and plenty of smashed PBs.
Saturday was reserved for race registrations, race briefing and the pasta party at Crowne Plaza hotel our official hotel venue. As having participating athletes from many countries, the hotel was perfect choice for them to stay. Special packages were made for athletes and everything that was needed to perform at their peak was provided by the hotel.
The race briefing was held in both Serbian and English language. The course was designed for speed and all the details in regards to the course and speedy transitions was provided at the briefing and the athletes were of to the bike check-in at the course main location the Ada lake.
Ada lake is a lake that is stationed 10 minutes from the very center of the city and is one of the main landmarks of Belgrade.
The transition was a uniquely placed on two levels and the bikes were placed on the roof of a two store parking contraction. Everything was set for a spectacle that took place on Sunday at 7a.m. at the Lake.
It was a race that every athlete wished for. The weather was just perfect. The lake for the swim was calm and the temperature just right for wetsuits. The bike course was everything that was expected from it. The run was filled with fan cheering the athletes in their pursuit of their dreams and goals. The over all winner in the mens field was Dejan Patrcević and in the women’s field was won by Maja Urban.
